Job summary

The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is seeking a Primary Care Registered Nurse for the Vancouver Island Primary Care Centre. This term position, with a potential extension to permanent status in the Vancouver Island Region, offers a salary of $94,724 - $114,261 per year and standard 37.5-hour weeks.

The role works in Tseycum (North Saanich) with daily travel to Pauquachin, Tsartlip, and Tsawout, delivering trauma-informed, culturally safe primary care within a wrap-around team.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent and training/experience.
• Current registered nurse with BCCNM.
• CPR Certification.
• BCCDC Immunization Certification an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in primary care/public health/chronic disease care.
• Experience delivering health services to First Nations clients.
• Training in anti-Indigenous racism response and cultural safety and humility.
• Experience integrating holistic Indigenous approaches with Western care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct primary care services to clients at all life stages by observing, assessing, monitoring and documenting health and progress.
• Actively contribute to a racism-free and culturally safe environment for clients, families, and staff.
• Demonstrate cultural humility and trauma-informed care in practice, acknowledging client values and beliefs.
• Comply with standards for RN practice per BC regulatory guidance and legislation.
