Job summary

The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services' Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) in London, Ontario, is seeking Child and Youth Counsellors to provide care and treatment for children and youth with complex mental health needs. Roles support residents under a trauma-informed, evidence-based framework and collaborate with families and community services.

Qualifications

• Completed one of the listed education programs or equivalent with at least one year of post-graduation experience.
• Experience providing care and treatment to children with developmental/behavioral needs on-site and in the community.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices for children/adolescents with developmental delays or mental health problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, assessment and treatment for children/youth with complex mental health or developmental needs.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team including clinicians, guardians and community resources.
• Utilize trauma-informed approaches and a bio-psycho-social care model.
• Administer medications and treatments after training per the CPRI procedures.
• Develop and implement individual care plans and participate in plan-of-care meetings.
• Engage in training to stay current on safeguarding and health and safety.
