Job summary

Aventa Centre of Excellence for Women with Addictions is seeking a motivated Counsellor (Addictions) to support women through a 7-week program. The role involves group facilitation, individual case management, and crisis intervention within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to trauma-informed care.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience, strong communication skills, and a clear Criminal Record Check. Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related field, with minimum 2 years’ clinical experience.
• Registration where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate process-style group sessions for diverse Clients, including those with concurrent disorders.
• Provide individual case management and crisis counseling, including assessment, planning, and discharge.
• Document and manage Client files with case notes and reporting for accreditation purposes.
• Coordinate case consultations with team members to ensure effective treatment and safety planning.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing supervision and learning.
