Job summary

Town of La Ronge is seeking an equipment operator in the Public Works department to perform general labour, maintenance, inspections and repairs on roads, ditches, sidewalks, Barber Field airport, equipment, and facilities.

This full-time, year-round position requires Grade 12, a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license with air brake endorsement, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; AVOP or airport experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent; valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to perform physical labour and operate small tools in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour, maintenance, inspections and repairs for Town roads, ditches, sidewalks, Barber Field airport, equipment and facilities.

The Public Works Department is seeking an enthusiastic individual to perform the duties of an equipment operator within the Public Works department. Reporting directly to the Lead Hand, this position will be responsible for performing general labour, maintenance, inspections and repair associated with Town roads, ditches, sidewalks, Barber Field airport, equipment, and facilities. Physical labour, including the use of small tools, and activities, such as asphalt crack sealing, are also required. As a condition of employment, the individual is expected to work year-round in a variety of weather conditions, and weekend or evening work may be required to assist with departmental operations. This is a full-time permanent position. Qualifications for the position include: Grade 12 or equivalency; a valid class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license with air brake endorsement; and physically aptitude and able to lift up to 50lbs. Restricted radio certification, AVOP certification, airport experience, and/or operating heavy duty equipment an asset.
