Pay Range: $80,000 to $105,000, this position is eligible for an annual bonus

Purpose

The Transportation Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of transportation operations within a designated region or market. This role oversees all aspects of delivery operations, including driver management, route optimization, safety compliance, and customer service, while driving operational excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of drivers, driver helpers, and dispatchers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, address employee concerns, and identify opportunities for team development.
  • Foster a safe and productive work environment for all team members.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee daily delivery operations, ensuring on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and compliance with all regulations.
  • Optimize delivery routes, schedules, and driver assignments to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement in operational performance.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including DOT regulations, Hours of Service, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Investigate and address any safety incidents or accidents.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the transportation team.
  • Customer Service:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve delivery issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with delivery services.
  • Manage transportation budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related discipline or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
