Transportation Manager

Location: Nanaimo, BC

Workplace: On site

Salary: $47.50 per hour, 40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time

Schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Early Morning, Morning

Start date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate daily operations
  • Monitor department's performance
  • Plan and organize daily operations
  • Plan for changes to schedules and policies
  • Prepare reports for senior management
  • Supervise staff
  • Manage finances or budget
  • Arrange shipping documentation and track goods in transit
  • Ensure transport compliance with regulations
  • Negotiate services and rates
  • Oversee vehicle and goods scheduling and dispatching
  • Set transportation service rates and monitor revenue
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Record cargo info, hours of service, distance, fuel consumption
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations

  • 3-4 staff members
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
