Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Economist to join our Edmonton team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact infrastructure and planning projects across Canada, working alongside engineers, planners, and policy experts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in economic analysis and a passion for applying economic principles to real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct economic impact assessments, cost-benefit analyses, multiple account evaluations, and business case studies for infrastructure, transportation, and planning projects.
  • Perform economic modelling and forecasting to support project evaluation and policy development.
  • Research local and regional economic trends, including labor markets, education and skills development, social inclusion, and business investment.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to support urban and rural regeneration and economic development.
  • Draft and prepare high-quality reports and presentations based on analysis and project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across projects, contributing strong technical insights and creative problem-solving.
  • Support project delivery by providing technical input and assisting with project coordination; may mentor junior team members.
  • Ensure work is delivered to the highest standards of quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degreein Economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 yearsof relevant professional experience in applied economic analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Economics or a related discipline
  • Experience working in consulting, public infrastructure, or government planning is considered an asset
