Transportation Administrative Assistant

Term Position

Effective May 5, 2025 - April 30, 2026

Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework, Band 3

Salary: $44,924 - $56,155 annually (pro-rated for term of employment and depending on qualifications and experience)

Reporting to the Coordinator of Transportation, the Transportation Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting with the planning and development of bus routes/bus stops in Bus Planner, and preparing reports, letters, memos, minutes, and other correspondence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Secretarial/clerical training at a Community College or equivalent and above average computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of current office procedures and equipment, bookkeeping.
  • Advanced knowledge with computer software including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, and email.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support to the Coordinator of Transportation.
  • Liaison with school offices on school bus related issues and school boundaries.
  • Prepare, create, and type letters, memos, agendas, reports, forms, charts, and materials.
  • Assess and provide direction to inquiries over the telephone, in person, and by email.
  • In collaboration with the Coordinator of Transportation, contact suppliers, compare prices/request quotes, prepare and process purchase orders, and verify materials as they arrive.
  • Assist other Operations Department staff with periodic/seasonal priority issues.
