Jacobs is seeking a transmission planning and studies engineer to perform power system studies and support business development across North America. You will work with regional and global teams, applying PSS/E, TARA, and PSCAD while coordinating with utilities and stakeholders.
The role supports hybrid work arrangements and requires travel within North America, with preference for Northeast locations. A strong background in NERC, FERC, NPCC standards is essential.

The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is undergoing major changes to accommodate for regional and global decarbonization and energy transition targets. In addition, and with the increasing number of large loads such as Data Centers, the role of transmission planners is more important than ever in shaping the grid of the future.
As a transmission planning and studies engineer, you will closely work with regional and global power systems teams to support and/or lead ongoing projects as well as business development and proposal support with a number of utility clients focused in the Northeast US.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate related experience and technical knowledge in transmission planning and bulk system studies, planning processes and good handle over FERC, NERC and NPCC standards and processes as well as direct experience with at least one of the following ISOs ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, and/or IESO. Strong background and experience in performing system impact studies and transmission planning using PSS/E, TARA, and PSCAD is a must.
This position is flexible anywhere in North America. However, preference would be given to candidates located in Northeast including New York, Boston, Toronto or Philadelphia.

The base salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $210,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
