Job description

Job Title: Transmission Lines Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transmission Lines Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and a strong background in utility-scale projects within Ontario. This is a key role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, review, and execution of overhead high-voltage transmission line projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the design of overhead transmission line projects (44kV to 500kV).
  • Conduct structural analysis and PLS-CADD modeling for new and existing transmission corridors.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, design packages, and technical reports for utility clients.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget from engineering through to construction.
  • Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams to ensure technical excellence.
  • Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and support field construction activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Hydro One standards, CSA codes, and provincial safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in transmission line design and utility engineering.
  • Proficient in PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and other line design software.
  • Strong understanding of Hydro One design standards and Ontario electrical utility.
