The Hatch Energy group is seeking a Transmission Line Regional Manager for our Western Canada region to work in eGRID. Reporting to the Global Lead - Transmission, you will focus on securing and delivering Canadian Transmission Projects while supporting projects globally working from our Mississauga, Vancouver, Montreal or Winnipeg office.

As the successful candidate, you will:

Design and engineering of high voltage overhead transmission lines from conceptual design through to construction. Design activities include route selections, conductor selection, rating studies, insulation designs, structure design, structure spotting, preparation of functional specifications for design, material and construction and coordinating of civil and structural designs of transmission lines.
Support our existing clients in Canada, the US and globally.
Further develop and lead our transmission team in Canada
Secure projects and MSA with key clients in Canada
Write technical papers and present at conferences to demonstrate expertise in the field and engage clients
Support the Business Unit in business development including fostering relationships with existing clients, preparing proposals for new work, identifying market areas, and pitching clients
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
Conduct site visits, factory visits, field assessments and client engagement meetings
Preparing cost and budget estimates and feasibility studies.
Preparing work methodologies, execution plans and schedules.
Projects management and execution of transmission projects
Support for risk assessments and resolution of constructability issues.
Preparing proposals for engineering of transmission line projects.
Delivering transmission line design projects in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget and procedures.
Resolving overall design/project execution issues, as required.
Ability to take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required.

You bring to the role:

Professional Engineer registered within Canada or the ability to obtain registration.
15 years experience in design of transmission lines.
Strong proficiency using PLS software suite: PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER.
Proficiency in using various engineering tools for design of transmission lines.
Familiarity with structural and civil design aspects for transmission lines.
Understanding with applicable codes, standards and regulations applicable to transmission line design in Canada and overseas.
Experience using GIS software packages like ArcGIS is an asset.
Experience in field construction is an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point
