Job summary

The Transload Operator at NSC Minerals Ltd. will support safe, efficient material handling by operating heavy equipment and managing key rail activities at our Alberta facilities. You will maintain a clean, hazard‑free worksite and follow all SOPs and safety protocols to ensure reliable operations.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, adaptable, and competent in equipment operation and basic maintenance tasks, with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment operating heavy equipment or rail equipment.
  • Flexible mindset with willingness to assist in yard and facility housekeeping.
  • Ability to work safely and follow SOPs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Manual labour is required.
  • Working outdoors is required year round.
  • PPE is required to be worn at all times when working on site.
  • Site consists of variations in temperature and noise levels.
  • Sensory attention/mental stress can be quite high during high production periods.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steers, railcar movers, and aerial work platforms (AWP).
  • Manage rail operations such as rail switches, spur lines, and transload conveyance systems.
  • Perform yard and facility housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete equipment checklists, inspections, and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs).
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the Superintendent or Operations Manager.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and investigations.
  • Complete required safety and equipment training or retraining.
  • Use all required safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
