We are currently looking for a Translator to join our team report to the Director, Corporate Communications.

As a Translator, you will coordinate the translation and adaptation of a wide range of documents and support daily internal communications activities that help advance our organizational goals.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Translate primarily from English to French, and occasionally from French to English, for urgent or ad hoc requests.
  • Prioritize and manage incoming translation requests and workflow.
  • Oversee execution and quality control of translations produced by external vendors.
  • Ensure all translated materials reflect Fairstone’s brand voice, maintain consistency, and align with corporate terminology and tone.
  • Proofread all deliverables to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with internal messaging.
  • Ensure translation services meet established service level agreements.
  • Maintain and enforce use of Fairstone’s terminology and lexicon.
  • Manage relationships with translation vendors, including evaluating performance and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Track translation-related invoices and maintain budget oversight.
  • Provide linguistic and editorial guidance to internal teams as needed.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in translation.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a translation role. Corporate or financial services experience is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of communication needs within a head office environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple stakeholder interests and build consensus.
  • Professional, collaborative, and highly organized, with excellent prioritization skills.
  • Autonomous and resourceful, with the ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in fast-paced or changing environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken), with the ability to accurately translate written content from English to French and vice versa.
  • Experience using SDL Trados Studio.
