Why is this role important?

The Coordinator, Translation oversees all stages of the translation process, from initial request to final delivery, ensuring quality and timeliness. They serve as the primary liaison with clients, translators, and revisers, providing guidance on translation processes and acting as a corporate resource for related questions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and monitor translation requests, including project scope and client communication.
  2. Establish and track timelines for translation and revision tasks, update team leads, and recommend solutions for issues.
  3. Allocate work to translators and revisers, monitor workload, and organize supporting documents, including pre-translations.
  4. Assist in outsourcing translation requests, organize files, obtain quotations, and process invoices.
  5. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Manage the Purchase Order (PO) Chart, ensuring accurate cost entry and delivery date verification.
  7. Support operational planning and workload evaluation, offering translation process guidance.
  8. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the translation team.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of project coordination experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with translation software is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Calm, supportive attitude in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong multi-project coordination and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with work allocation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in both official languages is preferred.
