Job summary

Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, seeks a Construction Field Engineer in Toronto to support CPS Lead during construction for rail and transit projects. You will perform field surveillance, verify IFC drawings, and coordinate across civil, structural, MEP interfaces to keep projects on track.

The role requires 7–10 years of relevant field experience, strong documentation, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
Experience in rail or transit projects, including transit stations, underground facilities, or maintenance facilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Perform regular site surveillance and construction observations to verify IFC drawings and project specs.
Monitor major civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and landscaping activities including track infrastructure and transit systems.
Observe installation of overhead catenary systems and related equipment.
Coordinate with design and construction teams to resolve field issues and RFIs/NCRs/Field Change Requests.
Prepare detailed site surveillance reports and maintain inspection records.
