Job summary

Keolis Commuter Services seeks a Paratransit Bus Driver for Hazelton/BC routes. You will provide accessible, safe transportation, assist riders with boarding and mobility aids, and perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure reliability.

The role is part-time, on-site with potential for advancement. A valid license, clean record, and ability to work with the public are essential for success in this community-focused service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or Class 2 license (upgrade possible).
• Clear criminal record and pass drug/alcohol testing.
• Clean driving abstract required on request.
• Ability to work independently and interact politely with public and staff.
• Physically able to perform all job duties.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers between cities.
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and mobility aids.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness.
• Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately.
• Maintain harassment-free environment for all.
• Report incidents, defects, or safety concerns.
• Fuel, wash, and check vehicle fluids.
• Perform daily pre/post trips as required by provincial rules.

What You’ll Do:

• Safely transport passengers between cities
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids (if needed)
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately
• Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone
• Report any incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns
• Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Class 1 or Class 2 Driver's License - would also consider license upgrades for applicable candidates.
• Ability to pass the required enhanced criminal record check, and drug & alcohol test
• Provide a clean driver's abstract
• Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff
• Physically able to perform all job duties

Bonus Points if You Have:

• Previous taxi or shuttle driving experience
