Transdev Canada is hiring a Transit Operator for our Vernon location!

Your Role

• Drive various transit or non-revenue vehicles safely, courteously, and reliably within the contracted service area according to a daily schedule.
• Maintain a strong attendance record.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections as required.
• Understand the demographics of the service area.
• Stop at designated points to load and unload passengers.
• Assist passengers using wheelchairs or mobility aids, ensuring proper securing of wheelchairs and scooters.
• Notify dispatch of deviations, overloads, accidents, passenger incidents, medical or behavioral problems, or mechanical/electrical issues.
• Deposit fares into the fare box and provide information to passengers; enforce rules and regulations when necessary.
• Complete and submit reports related to passengers and incidents.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Valid Class 1, Class 2, or Class 2 Learners license with air brakes.
• Clear driver abstract and commitment to safety regulations.
• Ability to assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices.
• Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and assist passengers.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug/alcohol testing.
