We currently have an opportunity available for the
Transformation Specialist to join our Teams. This is a one year contract.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - Days (After hours and weekend work may be required)
How Transformation Specialist support our teams at Grand River Hospital:
Grand River Hospital has embarked on a clinical transformation that will change the way we engage with our patients and how we work with one another across the Oncology program. This position functions to support the build and implementation of the PowerChart Oncology module by acting as a key change agent within clinical/services/administrative departments to execute on process re-design, end-user education and adoption. The PowerChart Oncology project encompasses the build, test and implementation of all supporting non-chemotherapy power plans and chemotherapy regimens (including associated documentation and integrated workflows) to support the organization’s Oncology program.
The Transformation Specialist will function as a bridge between the PowerChart Oncology project team and the Oncology Program, by working directly with stakeholders to successfully build inter-professional and inter-departmental relationships. The Transformation Specialist, in partnership with the project team, will provide leadership to successfully execute on noted project deliverables by driving clinical adoption of the PowerChart Oncology module and functionality to achieve benefits realization. This is a critical role within project, as the Transformation Specialist will function as a key liaison between clinical operations and other internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Provides leadership to successfully build relationships between the project team and the specific clinical/administrative practice area
- Leads active inquiry to identify requirements to support workflows/configuration required in the PowerChart Oncology module (module represents a key aspect of the HIS solution)
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as applicable
- Advocates for clinical/administrative requirements that support the strategic development of the associated HIS functionality
- Recommends clinical/administrative requirements, user preference and results of workflow analysis in software and technical development of the PowerChart Oncology Module (HIS)
- Collects information regarding HIS enhancements
- Reviews software functionality
- Analyzes and interprets clinical requirements and expected outcomes
- Produces clear recommendations that contribute to design decisions
- Conducts/coordinates user acceptance testing
- Works with developer/configuration/build resources (both internal and external) to manage deliverables
- Supports implementation of software into production
- Promotes awareness of HIS by using targeted communication techniques in accordance with the stakeholder engagement/communication plans
- Works within the milieu of the clinical program/administrative department
- Supports change management within the clinical program as applicable (to be reviewed with lead TS and Project Manager)
- Assists with the coordination of stakeholder communications, content creation and audience analysis
- Recognizes, manages, escalates and mitigates risk
- Creates mechanisms for staff to identify operational efficiencies and quality improvement
- Identifies improvement needs
- Contributes to the design, execution, and evaluation of educational supports
- Contributes to the training and education requirements for user adoption and sustainability
- Applies principles of adult learning, coaching and mentorship
- Conducts classroom training (if applicable and planned accordingly with project management)
- Makes recommendations related to the build and testing of e-learning applications
At Grand River Hospital, Our Transformation Specialist Has
- Diploma/Degree in healthcare related discipline
- 3-5 years related health care experience
- Experience in an outpatient Oncology setting an asset
- Knowledge of OH-CCO data-book and data reporting an asset
- Previous experience in health informatics an asset
- Knowledge of the Cerner Millennium application an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the principles of adult learning
- High level of initiative, decisiveness and business acumen
- Ability to relate to individuals and manage stakeholder expectations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and group process skills
- Effective presentation skills
