Job summary

U-Haul Company in Ajax, Ontario is seeking a Transfer Driver to help move equipment between centers and the repair shop. You will complete intake paperwork, perform visual inspections, maintain a driver log, and ensure timely transport to keep customers serviced.

Candidates should have a valid driver’s license, be 18 or older, and be able to use mobile transfer programs. DOT certification may be sponsored. Benefits, training and opportunities for advancement are provided.

Responsibilities

Compensation Range: $17.60 to $19.50 Hourly

Location: 239 Station St, Ajax, Ontario L1S 1S3 Canada

Transfer Driver Primary Responsibilities

• Fill in receipt and intake paperwork electronically.
• Transport U-Haul equipment between U-Haul centers, dealerships and the repair shop.
• Perform visual inspections of equipment.
• Maintain a driver log.
• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.

Transfer Driver Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Able to use mobile transfer programs
• D.O.T. certification if required-can be sponsored by U-Haul
• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
