We are seeking an experienced and innovative Transaction Tax Manager to join its Richmond, B.C. based team. Reporting and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director - Tax Operations, the Transaction Tax Manager will manage a team and will be responsible for all aspects of Canadian and US transaction tax compliance. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the accurate and timely preparation and filing of US and Canadian sales and excise tax returns.
- Reviewing and approving tax compliance working papers and account reconciliations.
- Engaging, mentoring, and training the team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Providing tax expertise and audit support to US and Canadian warehouse personnel.
- Identifying and mitigating tax risks.
- Conducting tax research and preparing technical memoranda as needed.
- Monitoring legislative developments and analyzing their impact on operations.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with warehouse and corporate personnel.
- Communicating effectively with internal staff, taxing authorities, and outside service providers.
- Seeking process improvements, data management opportunities, and efficiencies.
- Assisting with review and approval of US property tax returns.
- Participating in Tax Department projects.
- Potential travel within Canada and the US.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Business Degree/Diploma with emphasis in Accounting or Tax.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax handling high-volume compliance.
- Proven experience leading a team as a Tax Manager or Tax Team Lead.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Taxation.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Accounting Designation - CPA (US or Canada).
