Overview

The Training Supervisor will be responsible for training employees within Menzies Atlantic and will be required to travel to 6 other stations in the region as needed. They will oversee the online learning program, supervise the on-the-job training of employees & instructor-led programs to ensure all employees remain in compliance with Menzies training standards. They will set standards to provide our customers with safe & efficient operations and roll out airline-specific training. The supervisor will also influence and facilitate the consistent delivery of a “World Class” product to our airline customers.

The Training Supervisor will work collaboratively with management supporting change for those individuals who require training. This role will provide real-time guidance to team members and ensure adherence to safety, security, and training policies, SOPs as well as leading best practices and mentoring team members.

Main Accountabilities Include

  • Adheres to & implements corporate and regional operational training procedures.
  • Ensures that all mandatory training has been completed for all departments and collaborates with the management team to ensure that all recurrent training is documented accordingly in employee training records.
  • Identifies training needs & implements training courses/materials.
  • Maintains records of training and associated documentation for leadership review; well-organized with computer files and records.
  • Collaborates with operations for the distribution of safety, security, and training alerts to increase awareness and compliance.
  • Provides recommendations to the Training & Standards Manager and associated documentation.
  • Reports compliance of safety and training programs to management team.
  • Leads by example and provides honest and direct feedback to employees and colleagues.
  • Drives the ‘Safety & Security First’ culture throughout the station.
  • Supports operations to introduce safe and secure working procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum three years of experience in oil & gas or airline industry.
  • Experience with training, planning, and implementing.
  • Demonstrated agility—strong time management skills and adaptability to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and legally able to work.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold all required security clearances.
  • Driver’s license required and must have a clear driving record.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods experience.
  • First Aid (Level C CPR & AED).
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with various team members; collaborates with others and shares information.
  • Communicates with impact—sets direction and inspires.
  • Experience delivering superior results even under high pressure.
  • Able to multi-task and oversee various projects.
  • Decision-making, management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Experience in training and development with a diverse team.
  • People management experience, including employee performance management.
  • Supportive leader capable of providing coaching feedback and motivating teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and lead a 24/7 operation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to lift 70+ lbs when required.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
