The City of St. Albert’s Human Resources & Safety department has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Training Specialist to join our team for a three-year term assignment (June 2025-June 2028).
Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Strategies and Development, the Training Specialist is responsible for a variety of corporate training programs including soft-skills, safety, business applications and technology, core and leadership competency development, and corporate processes and priorities. As a member of the Learning & Development team, the successful incumbent will institute plans for training new and existing employees in defined program areas, through needs assessment, program development, administration, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation.

The role requires a dynamic facilitator who possesses excellent communication skills. A strong understanding and experience in curriculum development, e-learning design, and presentation are essential. QUALIFICATIONS
HOURS OF WORK
We offer a compressed schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO]). Please note that this position is required to work extended hours from time to time and to deliver training outside standard business hours. This can result in the incumbent being flexible to take RDOs at certain times.
TERM
This is a 3-year term position from June 2025 to June 2028.
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE
This position may be eligible to apply for flexible hours to adjust start and end times from the core hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. by 30 or 60 minutes.
HYBRID REMOTE WORK
The City of St. Albert offers options for Hybrid Remote Work. This position may be eligible to apply for Hybrid Remote Work. That means the majority of worktime (51+%) will be completed in the designated workspace, and the remainder may be worked remotely.
COMPENSATION
$83,549 - $102,830 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package.
