Central York Fire Services is a full-time consolidated fire service providing excellent public education, fire prevention, and emergency fire services to the residents of Aurora and Newmarket. Central York Fire Services serves a combined population of approximately 150,000 and covers an area of 90 square kilometres. The department responds to approximately 5000 emergency calls each year; operating out of five fire stations, three in Aurora and two in Newmarket. Under the direction of the Assistant Deputy Chief, the Training Officer is responsible for developing, preparing, delivering, evaluating and monitoring training programs for CYFS staff. The Training Officers are integral for the implementation of approved training programs and working with the shift instructors on a wide variety of topics to ensure all front-line staff meet the job requirements. The Training Division coordinates Fire College courses, identifies appropriate off-site training courses for staff to attend and develops and develops in-service training programs. They are responsible to coordinate shift instructors on the delivery of training material and procedures to frontline staff. These duties include managing some specialized equipment, involvement in equipment research and procurement, participate in recruit selection and promotional examinations as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Salary: $129,437
