We are hiring a Training Manager in Calgary, AB!

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, The Training Manager is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive training programs across technical and non-technical areas, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry trends. This role oversees internal and external training initiatives, including apprenticeships and vendor certifications, while continuously evaluating workforce skill gaps and trainer effectiveness. The manager collaborates closely with leadership to integrate training with business operations and fosters a culture of learning, growth, and adherence to core company values.

Responsibilities:

This position will include, but not be limited to the following:

Learning and Development Strategy:
  • Develop short-term and long-term training plans tailored to specific departments, software utilization, technological advancements and industry trends.
  • Allocate resources effectively for training initiatives.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of the workforce’s technical and soft skill gaps.
Program Development and Delivery:
  • Create technical and non-technical training modules relevant to HVAC systems, safety regulations, and customer experience.
  • Ensure that manuals, guides, and e-learning content are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Measure program success through employee feedback, performance metrics, and post-training assessments.
Train the Trainer Program Management:
  • Assess trainers’ effectiveness through participant feedback and observed outcomes.
  • Provide regular feedback and upskilling opportunities for trainers to enhance their teaching methodologies.
  • Select and coach internal subject matter experts to become effective trainers.
Apprenticeships:
  • Ensure apprentices have a clear understanding of the program, its expectations, and their career progression opportunities.
  • Monitor program completion rates and ensure apprentices meet certification and graduation requirements.
  • Work with leadership team to ensure class schedule works cohesively with business operations.
Vendor/3rd Party Training:
  • Evaluate external training programs for quality, relevance, and alignment with the company’s needs.
  • Organize and schedule employees for vendor-provided certifications or training workshops.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to align the class schedule with business operations, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
Qualifications Include:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a training and development environment.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Valid drivers license for minimum 3 years with a clean driver abstract.
