Raytheon Canada is seeking multiple Training Development Specialists to plan, design, create, edit, and review courseware content for defence simulation systems. You will deliver clear, engaging materials and act as SME for products, while coordinating with management on schedules and milestones.

Role requires a degree and 3+ years in courseware development, with strong XML skills and technical writing ability. Hybrid onsite days in Canada are possible; travel within Canada may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Programming or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in courseware development, including instructional design and content creation.
  • Experience in instructor-led training delivery is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Proficiency in XML Structured Data, the use of XML Schemas and experience using XML in an authoring environment.
  • Exceptional technical writing skills, with a strong command of English grammar and the ability to create clear, precise and engaging content.
  • Programming skills are an asset.
  • Proficient in working as part of a collaborative team and meeting deadlines with accuracy.
  • Project management skills for course creation and updates.
  • Experience in defence or simulation systems is highly desirable.
  • Travel to training facilities within Canada.
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written) is an asset.

Responsabilités

  • Deliver training to internal teams and customers, including train-the-trainer sessions as required.
  • Communicate project updates, schedules, priorities, and responsibilities to management.
  • Support the training department with additional tasks as required.
  • Track and report status of project documentation to ensure alignment with timelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other technical documentation duties.

We are presently seeking multiple motivated and detail-oriented Training Development Specialists to support simulated training defence systems. In this role, you will plan, design, create, edit, and review courseware content in various formats, ensuring the delivery of clear, engaging, and effective training materials. This position demands a strong focus on customer service, innovative training methodologies, and a commitment to precision and quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn complex training and simulation concepts to generate content that is clear, concise and aligned with the Engineering/Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) guidelines.
  • Plan, design and create new courses in various learning content formats, including conventional manuals, eLearning modules, video-based content, and distance learning.
  • Manage course updates and new courses development as individual projects, ensuring deadlines, milestones and project objectives are met.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for specific products or solutions to support team members, while also leveraging their expertise.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality assurance testing of peer-developed courseware to ensure accuracy, consistency and clarity.
  • Deliver training to internal teams and customers, including conducting “train the trainer” sessions as required.
  • Communicate regularly with management to provide updates on projects, schedules, priorities, and responsibilities.
  • Support the training department with additional tasks and responsibilities as required.
  • Track and report the status of project technical documentation to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other technical documentation duties, as assigned.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

This position is eligible for consideration of a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days.

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
