Job summary

DP World Canada is seeking a Training, Data and Systems Advisor to lead the development and implementation of health, safety, security, and environmental programs. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Health and Safety, significant experience in the field, strong communication skills, and the ability to analyze data, implement programs, and work collaboratively across various departments for compliance and improvement.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of terminal/industrial safety, environment, and security management systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in Environment, Health & Safety, and Management Systems.
  • Fluent in English with experience in leading critical incident investigations.

Job description

Role Purpose

The Training, Data and Systems Advisor, Health, Safety, Security, Environment is responsible for development, maintenance and implementation of the health, safety, security and environmental programs for DP World Canada. This role is also responsible for supporting HSSE training creation, and managing data and performance reporting for DP WorldCanada.

About the Role

  • Conduct analysis and review of HSSE performance data and provide analytic reports to meetinternal requirements
  • Work in the development and implementation of standardized HSSE systems, programs, policies, training, campaigns and programs to prevent injury and ensure compliance with regulations and DPW standards.
  • Collaborate with the DPW World Canada team (all functions) to standardize HSSE processes across the BUs when possible.
  • Audit HSSE programs to reduce loss, recommending and implementing programs for improvement.
  • Maintain oversight of systems use and application by all Canadian business units as a Super User.
  • Provide training on as needed basis to support compliance and application of systems. Provide support for documentation development, management and training initiatives.
  • Super User for DPW Canada HSSE SharePoint to assist with administration and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain data presentation reports, dashboards (PowerBI etc) and graphics as needed.
  • Research and develop training content, facilitate deployment, liaison with third party vendors, and organize training for HSSE department including terminal teams.
  • Manage training matrix, schedule training in OneLearn system, and perform quality audits on content and delivery of training.

About You

  • A degree/diploma in Occupational/Industrial Health and Safety or a related field such as business management and/or Computer Sciences. combined with Safety Management System knowledge or training are preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of terminal/industrial safety, environment and security management systems and successful implementation of incident, change, and problem management programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships and achieve buy in and ownership of quality standards/initiatives among all departments and levels.
  • Sound judgement and analytical thinking that enables decision making, ability to manage projects and prioritize and managetimelines.
  • Self-starter with a positive, hands-on approach and the ability to work as a teammember.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in Environment, Health & Safety, and Management Systems, or analytics combined with experience working in heavy industrial environment; unionized environment is an asset.
  • Experience in leading critical incident investigations, development and management of corrective action projects, and in liaising with government, regulatory, industry and labour organizations.
  • Exposure to adult learning is considered an asset
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
