Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Milton, CAN is seeking a Training Assistant to support process training and coaching for new hires in the Contract Logistics warehouse. You will deliver onboarding sessions, record training, and help build a library of work instructions.

You will work with Ops Managers and Supervisors to schedule trainings, ensure safe and productive work environments, and maintain the training room and simulations in the WMS system.

SUMMARY

A Training Assistant is responsible for supporting process training and coaching for new hires in the Contract Logistics warehouse, both delivering and recording training and coaching

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule onboarding of temps and DSV direct hires (in conjunction with Ops Managers and Temp Agencies)
• Conduct onboarding process training for new associates
• Record process training of new associates
• Deliver and document process coaching for new associates
• Schedule and deliver new, refresher, and cross process training to existing associates as directed by Ops Managers.
• Encourage a safe, productive, and positive working environment for all new associates.
• Work closely with department Supervisors and Logistic Coordinators to identify process errors and gaps of new associates and to coach associates on those errors and gaps.

• Must effectively communicate work instructions and processes to trainees and ensure they are performing to standard.
• Communicate any procedural issues for management to resolve.

• Develop and maintain a library of work instructions by client as well as high level process flows.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum for 6 months of experience in a fast paced, high volume distribution center
• High school degree or related field of study preferred. Equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered
• Demonstrated experience training, problem solving, and achieving results
• Prior inventory management and/or WMS experience preferred
• Skills in process mapping, establishing performance, standards/metrics, instructional skills.
