Job description

As the Training & Development Lead, you will play a key role in advancing SASCU’s learning culture by designing strategic training programs, enhancing content development, and providing leadership support to the Training & Development Advisors. This role combines hands-on instructional design with a coaching and support function to ensure training across SASCU is aligned with business needs, adult learning principles, and our commitment to employee growth and excellence.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop engaging learning content using a variety of delivery methods including elearning, instructor-led learning, and blended learning.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to build and maintain a library of learning assets that support onboarding, compliance, product knowledge, and role-specific development.
  • Support the implementation of higher-level learning programs for leadership development, career pathing, and cross functional learning.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance learning effectiveness, accessibility, and measurement.
  • Align learning programs with broader organizational initiatives and talent strategies.
  • Provide day-to-day support, mentorship, and coordination for the Training & Development Advisors.
  • Identify and implement enhancements based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
  • Actively maintain and apply best practices in training and organizational development.

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in training, instructional design, or learning and development.
  • Experience in financial services is an asset.

  • Display strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Are technologically proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.

  • Can work in a fast-paced team environment with changing priorities.
  • Have a collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in employee growth and development.
  • Possess the ability to meet goals with minimal supervision and work independently.
