TRAINING ANALYST / LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) ADMINISTRATOR SUPPORTVancouver Island or Vancouver Lower Mainland
The Opportunity
We are searching for a Training Analyst/LMS (Learning Management System) Administrator Support to join our Operational Training team. This is a crucial role in maintaining our learning management systems and analyzing training data. As a Training Analyst/LMS Administrator Support, you provide robust support to our Standardized Education and Assessment (SEA) Managers and the Operational Training Analyst/LMS Administrator, streamlining processes and increasing overall productivity, elevate our learning experiences and position us for long-term success. You also assist BC Ferries Training through Oracle Learning Management, SEA Learning Management and all platforms within BC Ferries from which training is delivered.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Training, you add value to the team by key areas of oversight such as:
- Acting as a key point of contact for required online training to meet operational crew working requirements, responding to questions and queries from Trainees, Scheduling Services and Operations in various capacities;
- Collecting, compiling, and analysing training and certification data, metrics and statistics;
- Providing recommendations based on data analysis to support the Training strategy and budget, while ensuring accurate analysis is provided to help identify the target audience and maintain operational compliance;
- Assisting various stakeholders throughout the organization by providing insights, forecasts and analysis based on the data;
- Assisting in developing and implementing business processes to ensure maintenance and accuracy of training requirements;
- Assisting in managing and maintaining all related data entry in Oracle Learning Management (OLM), including training events, certificates and competency creation;
- Assist in maintaining training content on the Standardized Education and Assessment (SEA) LMS;
- Supporting in the design of new online courses, working with a cross-disciplinary team of project groups, vendors, contractors and IT, while helping to recognize and resolve course design, configuration and infrastructure issues;
- Proactively identifying, monitoring and resolving technical issues within various online learning platforms such as Employee Self Service (ESS), OLM and SEA;
- Actively participating on project teams for the current and future implementation of LMS functionality and enhancements;
- Providing expertise in learning management systems including data migration and HR information systems;
- Assisting in designing and implementing instructions for online training fleet-wide along all levels of access;
- Performing technical maintenance and troubleshooting of course content and the LMS;
- Supporting in the development, maintenance and update of SharePoint, Articulate and Academy website content (All BCF Training);
- Overseeing the functionality of the Academy website, evaluating and managing website performance;
What you bring to the team
- Formal education in the field of adult education or instructional design, or relevant work experience, or interest and commitment to pursuing formal training in these areas
- Degree in IT or Computer Science preferred
- Preference may be given to a candidate with 3 or more years of administrative and adult education experience within the marine industry
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs. Experience with Oracle-based programs, SEA LMS, SharePoint, Articulate, databases and website design and maintenance an asset

Additional information
The target salary range: $64,600 - $80,700 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
