Job description

Classroom-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme based in one of our 57 schools. Lift Schools is one of the largest school trusts nationwide, partnered with Ark Teacher Training to deliver our programme.

You'll gain a PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate of Education) and your Qualified Teacher Status while working hands-on in the classroom as a Chemistry Teacher. Your tutor and coach will support you to build up your independent teaching time during the year.

The Programme Includes:

  1. Summer school: Two weeks of intensive preparation in August to ensure a strong foundation in educational theory and practice.
  2. Personalised support: Your tutor and in-school coach will be available to advise and discuss challenges.
  3. Weekly training sessions: Throughout your training year to enhance your classroom skills.
  4. National support network: Access to trainees and alumni across the trust for support during and after your training.
  5. Commitment to equal opportunity: We promote diversity and provide support to help all trainees reach their potential.

The school-based training involves spending half a day weekly in sessions with your Ark tutor and other trainees.

Salary Details:

Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship: £21,731 + £9,250 tuition fees paid by Lift Schools (£25,758 in London)

Tuition-Fee Route: Up to £30,000 per annum bursary or scholarship depending on degree classification (1st or 2:1 = £30,000 scholarship; 2:1 or 2:2 = £28,000 bursary), tax-free. Second-year salary guaranteed at £31,650 (£36,413 in London).
