Trailer Technician (Heavy-Duty Fleet) in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC seeks an experienced pro to service a large trailer fleet. The role emphasizes safety, diagnostics and high-quality repairs in a modern shop with team backing.

You will work with fellow technicians and a service writer, applying welding, PMs, inspections and structural repair techniques to keep freight moving and customers satisfied.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as mobile or trailer technician.
• Valid driver licence and ability to obtain CVIP certification.
• Hands-on PMs, inspections, brakes, tires, wheel-ends and ABS diagnostics.
• Torch and welding capability; knowledge of structural repairs.
• Commitment to safe shop practices and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Keep trailer fleet safe and compliant with preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose issues found during inspections and implement repairs quickly.
• Repair trailers' structural panels and liners with welding skills.
• Perform brake, tire, wheel-end and suspension work to keep equipment rolling.
• Troubleshoot ABS faults and ensure road readiness.
• Collaborate with service writer and team to complete repairs efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Keeping the trailer fleet safe and compliant through thorough preventive maintenance, inspections and wheel re-torques.


• Diagnosing issues found during inspections and putting the correct repair in place quickly.


• Restoring trailers through minor structural, panel and scuff liner repairs, using torch and welding skills.


• Keeping equipment rolling with brake work, tire work, wheel-end and suspension repairs, and wheel seal replacements.


• Troubleshooting and resolving ABS faults so equipment goes back on the road safely.


• Working with the Service Writer and technician team to get repairs done in a timely and efficient manner.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mobile or trailer technician.


• A valid licence, as required for this role.


• The ability to obtain CVIP certification.


• Hands-on skill in PMs, inspections, brakes, tires, wheel-ends, suspension, wheel seals and ABS diagnostics.


• Torch and welding capability, plus working knowledge of structural repairs.


• A solid grounding in safe shop practices and common occupational skills.


• Journeyman status or a safety inspection certificate is an asset.


• A team-first attitude, sharp diagnostic instincts, and pride in doing the repair right the first time.

Compensation & Work Model

Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process.

The package includes a $3,000 sign-on bonus program (terms and conditions apply), shift and skill-based hourly premiums, a $500 tool and PPE allowance, and a $300 boot allowance. It also includes comprehensive group health benefits, an RRSP with company match, an Employee and Family Assistance Program, and a referral bonus program.

Work model: Onsite, full-time, day shift.
