Job description

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED TRAFFIC TECHNICHIAN and TRAFFIC LABOURERS.

These are seasonal positions that offer a competitive wage with benefits.

The primary duties for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Responsible for the development, set-up, tear down and ongoing supervision of the traffic controls measures needed for our Municipal and Subdivision worksites. This includes but is not limited to placing no parking signs and barricades, document positioning. Manufacturing and maintaining rail barricades, temporary traffic, and street signs. Analyzing traffic volume; draw diagrams or charts to illustrate observations; identify and report hazardous conditions. Determining proper placement of signs based on analysis of speed zones and traffic conditions. Coordinating placement of flag personnel. Preparing clear, concise, and legible documents and reports.
  2. Must be able to work alone and/or with limited supervision.
  3. Work jointly with Supervisors, Project Coordinators and Foreman to provide support services and solutions ensuring all aspects of safe traffic control and site security.
  4. Maintain adequate inventory of material including signs, cones, barricades, etc.
  5. Coordinate the delivery of notices and information flyers as required.
  6. Assist in the maintenance of equipment and signs utilized by traffic control division.
  7. Night shift availability is an asset, but not a requirement.
