Your Opportunity

Dillon’s Community Design practice seeks a Traffic Engineer / Technologist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work on exciting projects, providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

We operate as one team, and this position is available at any of our Ontario offices.

Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Technical Activities & Administration
  • Contribute to transportation/traffic planning and design projects, including traffic analysis, parking reviews, road safety audits, signage, pavement marking, neighbourhood traffic management, and transportation demand management.
  • Support Dillon’s technical staff and project managers in project delivery for public and private clients.
  • Provide technical expertise as part of multidisciplinary teams (including planners, engineers, environmental scientists, technologists).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
Learning & Development
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and self-improvement.
  • Participate actively in professional associations and committees to enhance Dillon’s profile.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed
  • A degree in civil engineering or urban planning, or a diploma in civil engineering technology with a transportation focus.
  • Qualified to practice in Ontario as a Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Planner, or Certified Engineering Technologist, or eligible within six months.
  • Strong report writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience.
Experience

The ideal candidate should demonstrate interest, knowledge, and experience in areas such as:

  • Transportation impact studies
  • Parking and road safety studies
  • Traffic calming and warrant analysis
  • Traffic engineering software
  • Active transportation and TDM programs
  • Environmental assessments for transportation facilities
  • Innovation and technology in traffic engineering
