Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Traffic Coordinator / Field Specialist – EGS, focusing on traffic management coordination and City of Toronto permitting, to join our Infrastructure Team in Toronto, ON. The Traffic Coordinator / Field Specialist will be part of the delivery team responsible for construction field engineering within the Ontario Line Subway Project. Key responsibilities include:

  • Primary traffic coordination and secondary field specialist / engineer duties.
  • Acting as the liaison between EGS, other Ontario Line projects, and the City of Toronto for traffic management plan approvals and road closure permits.
  • Leading traffic management initiatives, organizing workshops, and engaging stakeholders to develop traffic solutions.
  • Executing and managing construction field engineering tasks, ensuring safety, technical, and quality standards are met.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review project requirements and ensure readiness of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Analyze drawings, scope, and specifications for project understanding.
  • Coordinate with project teams to align goals and timelines.
  • Assist in planning and resolving technical issues.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and technicians.
  • Supervise junior staff and provide guidance.
  • Communicate progress and issues to project managers and clients.
  • Ensure quality and safety compliance through inspections and reports.
  • Monitor resource usage and address client concerns.
Qualifications
  • Experience in traffic management and control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or 7-9 years without a degree.
  • Experience as a field engineer or assistant superintendent.
  • Previous supervision of infrastructure projects similar in scope and complexity.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with the City of Toronto or regulatory bodies.
  • Leadership skills and a commitment to safety and compliance.
