Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor in Canada to lead and support a team of Traffic Technicians. You will coordinate daily operations, manage schedules and resources, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities include coaching TCPs/LCTs, maintaining schedules and equipment, promoting safety, and ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC and provincial regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in the traffic or transportation industry, with leadership experience preferred.
• A valid Class 5 non-GDL driver’s licence or better, with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract.
• Current Traffic Control certification that can be maintained.
• Strong knowledge of British Columbia Traffic Management Manual (TMM) and Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
• A commitment to workplace safety and following company policies and procedures.
• Ability to successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening and fit testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) and Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs).
• Coordinate daily schedules, crews, equipment, and resources to keep projects running smoothly.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, WorkSafeBC requirements, and provincial regulations.
• Inspect traffic control setups to ensure they meet project plans and safety standards.
• Ensure employees have the required training, certifications, and equipment.
• Maintain fleet, equipment, and inventory, ensuring everything is accounted for and in good working order.
• Communicate regularly with office staff, field crews, and customers to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development.
• Review timesheets, equipment documentation, and work orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor team performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and customer service.
