Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking Traffic Control Manager candidates to join our team in Charlottetown. You will supervise traffic control at sites, ensure compliance with provincial requirements, and support a safety-focused work culture.

No prior experience or degree is required; we provide training and ongoing support to help you build a career in traffic control. Expect outdoor work in all weather with occasional night, weekend, or emergency shifts.

Qualifications

• Provincial Traffic Control Manager Certification required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sign temporary workplaces per provincial requirements.
• Load daily equipment on the truck before departure.
• Interact with customers in the field to understand scope of work and traffic control needs.
• Ensure Traffic Control Persons follow safety policies in the field.
• Act as Traffic Control Person during breaks/lunches.
• Perform routine inspections of temporary workplaces.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.

Job Description

As a Traffic Control Manager, you work with a team at job sites.No experience ordegree isneeded.Safety comes first—always.We train you.We support you.We help you build a career.

Your daily work includes:

• Ensuring temporary workplace are signed in accordance with provincial requirements
• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing
• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required
• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field
• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches
• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
• Working outside all year, in all weather
• Shifts may change based on job needs:Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may berequired
• We can provideyou with a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safetyboots that go above the ankle.
