Job description
Overview

Coordinate all of the shipping documents and assist with organizing inbound and outbound shipping schedules. Perform duties to arrange and coordinate the shipping of product to customers in accordance with planned shipping schedules and in a cost effective manner.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare rail & truck shipments for customers, combine shipments as appropriate, prepare loading specification sheet, and ensure proper loading procedures are followed.
  2. Monitor all outbound shipments to ensure orders are in transit as scheduled. Resolve customer complaints relating to orders in transit and freight rates, investigate and determine the nature of the problem, and take corrective action.
  3. Monitor stock list for negative quantities and check for missing inventory.
  4. Check all prepaid shipments to add freight charges, and resolve all billing errors prior to final billing.
  5. Quote freight rates to customers and sales personnel.
  6. Contact customers to correct mistakes on bills of lading or to advise when material is ready.
  7. Monitor customer claims for credit to ensure proper return of material is arranged.
  8. Maintain a file of all open rail and truck shipments and of records of rail cars and trailers in the area.
  9. Prepare and distribute reports relating to traffic management.
  10. Prepare UPS shipments when required.
  11. Maintain and update files and records.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned
