Qualifications

• Registered Apprenticeship certificate required.

• Knowledge of reflexology, Shiatsu and related techniques is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose patient illnesses and minor injuries, such as allergies and strains.
• Diagnose physiological disorders and injuries of patients.
• Administer natural remedies or advise lifestyle changes.
• Treat diseases and injuries of patients with acupuncture or stimulation techniques.
• Advise patients on the use of herbs for treatment.
• Provide other alternative health care approaches as needed.
• Perform acupuncture needle insertions or stimulation techniques.

WORK SETTING

TASKS

• Diagnose patient illnesses and minor injuries, such as allergies and muscle strains or sprains
• Diagnose physiological disorders and injuries of patients
• Treat patients by administering, in chemical or herbal form, a small dosage of a remedy made from natural substances or by suggesting lifestyle changes
• Treat the diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients
• Advise patients on the use of herbs for the treatment of conditions
• Manipulate or apply pressure to various parts of the body, hands and feet
• Provide other alternative forms of health care to patients
• Treat patients by the insertion of acupuncture needles or through stimulation techniques
