Job summary

ADM in Windsor, ON is seeking an intermediate Trading Manager to join the merchandising team. You will lead trading strategies for soy and canola crush, buying soybeans and canola seed while selling soymeal, soy hulls and canola meal, building relationships with accounts and managing logistics and accounting.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will analyze market data, develop cost-efficient transportation, and mentor colleagues as part of ADM's global network.

Qualifications

• University degree in agriculture or business and 3+ years in commodity trading.
• Regional experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of futures, spreads and forex is advantageous.
• Experience with vessel freight and export markets is a plus.
• Strong risk assessment and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze basic P&L and month-end reports.
• Identify new profitable business to enhance company assets.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, including premium and volume accounts.
• Understand customer requirements to add value for both companies.
• Prepare and present reports detailing issues and opportunities.

About The Position

Duties And Responsibilities

Knowledge & Skills

• University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting), supplemented with a minimum of three years of experience in commodity trading.
• Regional experience will be considered an asset.
• Strong working knowledge of futures / spreads / forex will be considered an asset.
• Experience with vessel freight and export markets will be considered an asset.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment. Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic and international trade.
• Proven ability to succeed within a team based work environment. This role requires strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.

The pay range for this position is: $95,000-$142,800. Position is eligible for an annual bonus incentive, payout is based on company and individual performance.
