Job description

Job Title: Tradesperson - Painter

The Surrey School District is seeking applicants for a full-time (temporary) position of Tradesperson - Painter, reporting to the Manager of Security and Infrastructure at the District Facilities Centre. This position involves working on various projects including renovations, repairs, and new installations across over 140 school district sites and offices.

This is a temporary assignment working 37.5 hours/week, with an end date of December 31, 2025, which may be extended or until the incumbent returns from leave.

The position offers a shift from 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, with excellent work-life balance, access to quality tools and equipment, a fleet of well-maintained vehicles, and the District Facilities Centre located in Surrey.

Qualifications:
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license
  • TQ journeyman ticketed painter
  • At least 5 years of recent painting experience
  • Ability to perform the duties required
  • Experience in an institutional setting is a plus

This unionized position offers an hourly wage of $40.65 plus a comprehensive benefits package including municipal pension, health, vacation, sick benefits, and access to an on-site gym. The effective date is per the collective agreement.
