Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic for the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital facilities team.

The role covers maintenance, alteration, construction and repair of sterilizers and refrigeration systems, with welding, soldering and blueprint reading as needed. Applicants should have a journeyperson certificate in Refrigeration Mechanics and at least three years of related experience, plus strong time management and independent-work abilities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Certificate in Refrigeration Mechanics.
• A minimum of three years of experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic is required.
• Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A satisfactory record of work performance is required.

Job Summary

The Trades Worker II (Refrigeration Mechanic) is a journeyperson level position that performs skilled work in the maintenance alteration, construction, and repair of sterilizers, refrigeration systems and other mechanical equipment. Work may also involve welding, soldering and blueprint reading and performing other related duties as required.
