Job summary

Worley Canada Construction seeks a Trades Recruitment Advisor to join the People team in Edmonton, Alberta. You will manage high-volume recruitment, source candidates, coordinate interviews and ensure compliance with provincial requirements, while partnering with construction leadership to meet project needs.

Ideal candidates bring HR education and strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills, with a willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-volume recruitment role.
  • Trades-specific experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of provincial legislation and HR fundamentals.
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and pre-screen large volumes of candidates efficiently.
  • Coordinate interviews with managers and participate as needed.
  • Maintain rosters and support construction management in planning.
  • Source candidates via multiple channels including events and networks.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Industry Training standards.
  • Assist in recruitment procedures and program communications.

Worley Canada Construction is seeking an experienced Trades Recruitment Advisor to join our growing People team in Edmonton, Alberta.

Responsibilities
  • Review, contact and pre‑screen a high volume of prospective candidates.
  • Ensure pre‑access drug and alcohol testing requirements are met prior to mobilizing the new hire to site; where applicable.
  • Coordinate interviews with respective managers and participate in interviews (as required).
  • Collect required safety tickets and journeyman/apprenticeship ticket for validity.
  • Maintain manpower rosters and work with the construction management team to ensure they are continuously updated.
  • Develop relationships with assigned client groups to understand the business needs informing them of recruitment services, as well as key decision points which require Human Resources involvement due to legal and internal implications.
  • Contribute to the development of a cohesive recruitment team by assisting all other personnel in recruitment as required to achieve successful outcomes for the business.
  • Work closely with construction supervision to ensure that any candidate issues are addressed in accordance with all applicable policies and legislation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in career fairs and other recruitment related events.
  • Utilize multiple resources including internet, social media, career fairs, open houses, direct sourcing, networking, educational institutes, and affiliated associations to source for potential candidates.
  • Streamline and communicate recruitment procedures and programs to superintendents, construction managers, project managers and site administration.
  • Utilize the applicant tracking system and appropriate project recruitment tracking system.
  • Provide assistance in the Alberta Industry Training (AIT) process during the recruitment stages of hiring apprentices to ensure Worley remains compliant with AIT standards.
  • Attend project kick off meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high volume recruitment role.
  • Trades specific experience would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial legislation.
  • Post‑secondary education – Degree, or Diploma in Human Resources is an preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills – establish direct working relationships and rapport with all levels within the organization, effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Customer service, including developing and improving customer relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and phone skills, ability to build rapport quickly and make high number of calls daily.
  • Must have a passion for recruitment and ability to manage high volume recruitment.
  • Must be a team player and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
