New Westminster Schools Career Opportunity TRADES HELPER - PAINTER (TEMPORARY)

JOB FUNCTION :

• Reports to the Director of Facilities & Operations or designate
• Assists the various tradesmen with indoor and outdoor tasks
• Performs a variety of semi-skilled and other tasks related to the maintenance repair and upkeep of school district buildings grounds and equipment
• Assists tradesmen with major repairs renovations and other assignments as required
• Other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Grade 12 graduation
• Valid BC Drivers licence
• Some demonstrated painting experience
• Ability to perform at a basic standard of workmanship in the trade
• Knowledge of basic painting practices methods materials tools and equipment
• Ability in basic use of the tools and equipment of the trade
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out an effective work schedule with a minimum of supervision
• Ability to plan and carry out an effective work schedule with a minimum of supervision
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff students and the communi

Hours of Work & Salary :

• 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 7 : 00a.m. to 3 : 30p.m.
• Temporary Assignment ending August 29 2025 with possibility of extension
• 30.55 per hour
