The College of New Caledonia seeks qualified instructors for its Trades Discovery Program, aimed at offering students hands-on trade exploration. Job Summary
The College of New Caledonia’s Mackenzie campus requires instructors to teach in our Trades Discovery Program. The program is designed to allow students to explore a minimum of four trades, allowing students to try a trade before committing to a whole program. The need for skilled tradespeople in Northern B.C. is increasing, along with exciting, well-paid, employment opportunities.
Students in the program will range from High School (grades 10-12) to adults.
You are invited to submit your resume as an expression of interest if you meet the qualifications in one of the following trades:
Automotive, Carpentry, Electrical, Heavy Mechanical, Industrial Mechanical, Professional Cook, Welding.
Skills & Qualifications
Instructors in trades courses are required to hold a Certificate of Qualification and/or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate in the related trade
● Five years’ experience working in industry
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both individual and group situations
● Preference will be given to applicants with recent trade experience and proven teaching and/or supervisory experience
● Provincial (BC) Instructor Diploma will be considered an asset
● Previous experience working with First Nations students and communities will be considered an asset
Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.

You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.

Salary $73,879 - $87,659 Commensurates with qualifications and relevant experience
