Trade Operations Analyst | North American Gas

Join Macquarie’s Commodity Operations Group as a Trade Operations Analyst across North American Gas. The Operations Division is responsible for the operational infrastructure required to support the settlement of a variety of financial and physical products in support of our Commodity Markets and Finance Trading division. The division works in a time-sensitive environment in which accuracy of processing, timely escalation, and communication within the division, the businesses, risk management groups, legal teams, clients, correspondent banks, and custodians is essential to ensuring an efficient settlement process.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will provide essential business-aligned support services to our North American Gas trading business including but not limited to trade verification, confirmation, invoicing and settlement services, treasury activities, regulatory reporting, and reconciliations of US and Canada gas pipeline volumes. Your ability to work collaboratively will be demonstrated as you engage with Trading, Scheduling, Legal, Compliance, Finance/Tax, Technology, Risk Management, among many other stakeholder groups supporting our North American Gas businesses. Your drive for continuous improvement will be utilized as you create sustainable and innovative solutions to address business issues/needs.

What you offer
  • A minimum of two years relevant back-office trade support/settlement experience
  • Working knowledge reconciling gas volumes internally and with clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strategic mindset and strong technical skills with the ability to simplify complex situations
  • Experience working with basic programming, data or workflow tools (e.g. Python, R, Alteryx, PowerBI) is a plus.
