Job description

Position Purpose

The Trade Marketer plays a key role in developing JTI-Macdonald Corp.'s market share and volume within their territory. They achieve this by executing trade programs, optimizing product mix, and ensuring product quality, core brand distribution, inventory levels, and timely collection of store-level data. They are also responsible for retail agreement and service fee budget allocations.

Responsibilities

  1. Optimize product distribution, inventory levels, space allocation, and pricing at retail, wholesale, and cash & carry levels within a predefined territory.
  2. Manage territory data reports, trade program budgets, weekly expenses, car stock, tools, and company vehicle maintenance.
  3. Negotiate retail contracts with independent retailers, monitor compliance, and maintain account information within budget constraints.
  4. Implement retail programs and product launches to enhance results and ROI, ensuring compliance and timely execution within budget.
  5. Educate trade partners on product reselling through communication of brand attributes and support tools, and execute retail initiatives as directed by the District Sales Manager.
  6. Monitor and report on compliance with national and regional chain agreements in the territory.
  7. Engage retail and wholesale customers regularly, discussing their business, industry trends, and competitive activity.
  8. Maintain a professional image and foster good business relationships in line with JTI corporate guidelines and code of conduct.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in decision-making with regional management.
  • Valid driver's license; a company vehicle will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Understanding of financial planning and time management.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in FMCG sales.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Sales experience is an asset.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Selling and negotiation skills.
