EY Law LLP is expanding its Global Trade group within the Indirect Tax Practice. We are seeking talented lawyers for future roles on our collaborative team, assisting leading multinational organizations in navigating complex customs and trade laws in Canada. EY Law LLP is affiliated with EY LLP (Canada) and supports clients worldwide, combining legal expertise with a strong national presence.

Core responsibilities include:

• Advising on customs planning, trade compliance risks, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and import/export controls.
• Representing clients in trade-related investigations and disputes with customs authorities, including negotiations, hearings, or litigation.
• Providing guidance on international trade agreements and domestic trade laws.
• Managing multiple assignments independently.
• Conducting legal research and preparing memos, opinions, and reports.
• Delivering high-quality services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Collaborating with various EY practices and the EY Global Network.

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice law in a Canadian province.
• At least 1 year of experience in customs and trade law, from a reputable law firm, in-house, or government agencies such as the Canada Border Services Agency or the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; French fluency is an asset.
• Proactive, motivated, and committed to practice growth.

Fluency in English is required; bilingualism in French and English is an asset, as this role involves interaction with clients and colleagues across Canada.
