The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in White Rock is seeking an Investment Associate (Trade Execution Specialist) to join a successful Private Investment Management Team. You will execute all portfolio trading and support the Portfolio Manager in keeping portfolio models up to date.

What will you do?

  • Execute trades and rebalance portfolios.
  • Execute model portfolio changes - trade execution only.
  • Exchange foreign currency when needed.
  • Keep models up to date on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Review cash balances (debits & credits) for investment or debit coverage for discretionary and non-discretionary accounts.
  • Execute all other trading for team members (i.e. post client review portfolio changes, monthly AFT & RIF payments, EFTs & wire transfers) – trade execution only.
  • Debit forecasting – reviewing accounts to ensure cash balances for quarterly fees.
  • Review and maintain Private Investment Management (PIM) Dashboard. Keeping client accounts on side with regards to their current Investment Policy Statement (IPS).
  • Review and maintain daily reports for investment of funds (i.e. deposits, contributions, PACs).
  • Review and execute on any reorg notices.
  • Draw on your social media skills to update the team’s communication channels, including websites, LinkedIn, Facebook, brochures, newsletters.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH).
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in securities industry.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures, an asset.
  • Highly developed technical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs.

The expected base salary range for this position is $37,500 - $45,000.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.0x base salary.
