The impact you'll make:

Reporting to the Director of Distribution and Logistics, the Trade Compliance Specialist supports the import/export of finished goods and raw materials globally. Responsibilities include tariff classification, country of origin, duty drawback, and compliance.

All team members contribute to Saje’s culture and maintain a positive environment.

What you'll do:

  • Implement improvements to trade compliance infrastructure.
  • Support policy, procedure, and training development related to trade and compliance.
  • Research and advise on HTS classification, country of origin, and other compliance functions.
  • Identify compliance improvements and trade-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment with company objectives and regulations.
  • Assist with internal audits and respond to customs inquiries.
  • Create import/export documentation and support customs procedures.
  • Help with reconciliation processes like Customs Valuation and duty drawback.
  • Develop strategies to streamline cross-border operations.
  • Build relationships with internal teams, customs brokers, and distribution centers.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in trade compliance, customs regulations, and international trade.
  • Proficiency in HTS classification, country of origin, and related functions. Familiarity with customs valuation and duty drawback.
  • Strong research, analysis, and guidance skills on compliance issues.
  • Proven ability to identify compliance improvements and trade savings.
  • Organizational and project management skills for policy and training development.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail for audits and compliance.
  • Problem-solving skills for compliance enhancements.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Customs Specialist or CTCS preferred.
  • Experience with CBSA/CBP regulations is highly desirable.
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is an asset.
