Irving Oil Ltd. in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a Tractor Trailer Delivery Driver to safely deliver petroleum products to commercial customers, retail sites, and bulk plants.

You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load and unload safely, and collaborate with Dispatch to optimize routes while adhering to DOT regulations. Qualifications

• Must have a valid commercial license with Class 1 designation and air brakes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Irving Oil products to various locations within Dartmouth and surrounding areas.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with Dispatch to optimize routes and delivery schedules.
• Safely load and unload products and maintain truck cleanliness and organization.
• Complete daily shift reports and required paperwork with accurate information.
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions to management and maintain compliance with safety policies.

Maintain familiarity with different trucks/trailers in order to accurately inspect trucks, trailers, tires, pins, lights, etc.* Safely load and unload product from storage facilities while adhering to all safety policies and procedures* Report all hazards or unsafe situations that cannot be corrected on their own to manager.* Complete daily shift report and all required paperwork with accurate information* Maintain a clean and organized vehicle – inside & outside**Your Skills**:* Good verbal and written communication in working with load builders, dispatchers, and sometimes dealing with customers* Basic mathematical skills are necessary* Good judgment skills and some technical skills* Able to ensure that product gets delivered on time, while considering all safety issues and problems that can arise during pre-trip checks and delivery of product* Strong safety focus required**Your Experience:*** Valid commercial truck driver's license with a clean Driver's Abstract* Class 1 designation with air brakes, WHMIS & Dangerous Goods Certification* High school diploma or G.E.D. required* Minimum 2 years Commercial Transportation (Class 1/A) experience. Previous experience with liquid loads is considered an asset The expected hourly rate for this position is $31.00 - $36.95.
